May is National Foster Care Month, a time to recognize the ways we can enhance the lives of children and youth in foster care. During this time, we want to honor foster parents, family members, volunteers, mentors, policymakers, child welfare professionals, and others who help children in foster care find permanent homes and connections.
Part of honoring the foster care community is to actively educate ourselves on the issues and challenges this community faces. So for the rest of the month, please tune into our Facebook and Twitter accounts for insights and stories. Our hope is that we can help spread awareness of the positive and negative realities of foster care.
